EDITORIAL
The scope and scenario of healthcare system of
India has been going through a transitional phase.
At present Indian healthcare system is in
transitional phase falling in between Westernized
System and Traditional Oriental System. The
health care system is being forced to recognize
the importance of incorporating newer and more
user friendly changes, because those changes
could rectify age-old problems and lacunaes
affecting the entire healthcare system.

JOURNEY OF ALL INDIA ASSOCIATION OF MEDICAL SOCIAL WORK PROFESSIONALS
In the period when our Medical Social Work
professionals were putting their best foot forward
in all aspects of medical setting contributing in
patient health care in the medical set ups all over
the country. There came in, the idea to bring up
a platform for the recognition for our Medical Social
Work professionals and improve the professional
competence in the country.

EXPRESSED EMOTIONS AS A CONTRIBUTORY FACTOR IN MENTAL HEALTH
Expressed emotion (EE), is a qualitative measure of the amount of emotion displayed, typically in the family setting, usually by a family or care takers. Expressed emotion was introduced in England in the 1960s by Brown and his associates (Kanter et al., 1987). The Lancet (Brown, Carstairs & Topping, 1958) looked at the social environment into which long-stay psychiatric patients returned after discharge from the hospital.

AGEING AND POSITIVE MENTAL HEALTH: A BRIEF OVERVIEW
The ancient times have often described old age as second childhood. Just like a child an elderly is dependent on the caregivers to help them with activities (Almeida, 2012). This stage represents the final period of lifespan, a time where the individual reflects on life, ponders over his past accomplishments and begins to plan the closure. Aging is a process of becoming older.

BURDEN OF CARE IN THE CAREGIVERS OF INDIVIDUAL WITH SCHIZOPHRENIA AND BIPOLAR AFFECTIVE DISORDER
Schizophrenia and bipolar affective disorder are severe mental illness, which is stressful not only for the patients, but also for family members (Saunders, 2003). The family is generally perceived by society as the unit responsible for providing children with an environment that serves their physical and emotional needs (Goldstein et al., 1978).

Ageing can be described as a continuous irreversible changing process that normally comes with stressors over a long period of time. In human life old age is the closing period of the life span when people move away from previous more desirable periods or times of usefulness. Old age is considered as a curse being associated with deterioration of all physical, psychological, social and economic problems.

FAMILY BURDEN AMONG CAREGIVERS OF CHILDREN WITH MENTAL RETARDATION AND EPILEPSY
World Health Organization estimates that 10% of the (world health organization, 1989) world’s population has some form of disability. Mental retardation (MR) is one form of disability and affects 1-3% Curry (1997) of human population. Mental disorder is a particular state of functioning that begins in childhood and is characterized by decreased intelligence and adaptive skills and also is the 3 most common developmental disorder (Bregman, 1991).

PARENTAL EXPECTATIONS DURING CONVERSATION WITH ADOLESCENTS
Adolescence is a phase separate from both early childhood and adulthood. It is a transitional period that requires special attention and protection. Physically, children go through a number of transitions while they mature. We now know that the brain undergoes quite substantial developments in early adolescence, which affect emotional skills as well as physical and mental abilities.

CASE STUDY OF A PERSON WITH TRANSVERSE MYELITIS (TM): STRENGTH BASED COGNITIVE BEHAVIOURAL APPROACH
Transverse Myelitis (TM) is one of the clinical syndrome results in weakness, sensory alterations and autonomic dysfunction. 1 and 8 new cases per million people per year found to suffer from TM (Bermanet al., 1981). The depression and suicide has been observed one of the serious issue in TM. Psychopharmacologic and psychotherapeutic interventions have healthy response in TM and can improve depression as well (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2015).

Children with poor scholastic performance become source of immense stress for parents and teachers, which in turn, reduce the selfconfidence of children. These children are at risk of developing stress related disorders and behaviour disorders. Children with Specific developmental disorder of scholastic skills (SDDSS) have disturbances in acquisition of scholastic skills from early stages of development.
